FAQ's

1. What is the difference between Haba and Little Treasures furniture?

Haba furniture is factory made in Germany to exceptionally high standards.  It is made to order and delivered to you flat packed.

Little Treasures furniture is completely hand made in our own Lancashire workshop by master craftsmen.

2. How is Little Treasures furniture made?

Little Treasures furniture is made using traditional woodworking methods (eg dovetail joints) from the best and most suitable materials.  Each piece is made to order and lovingly created just for you.  Where possible, particularly in the themed ranges, multiple layers of wood are used to help create a 3D effect. Our furniture is very sturdy and made to last so that it can be cherised as a family heirloom.

3. What materials are used?

We use a mix of hardwood and MDF.
Hardwood is used to provide stability within the frames of the furniture.
MDF (medium density fibre board) is used for all painting surfaces as it provides a completely smooth grain free surface.
By using a mixture of the two, we can create stunning pieces of furniture that can be passed through to the next generation.

4. Can I have any design I want?

As we make all our furniture by hand, we will be more than happy to design a piece specifically for you.  If you can't find what you want, have your own design in mind or have seen something you'd like to incorporate, then please give us a call and we can discuss your requirements.
Our craftsmen are very imaginative and can usually create something stunning from most ideas!

5. Is the artwork hand painted?

All artwork is completely hand painted in our own studio in Lancashire.  As each piece is hand painted, it will be completely unique to you, but always of the highest standard.  We do not use stencils.

6.  Can I have any artwork I want?

Yes, as long as it does not contravene any copyrights.  Our artists are very talented and can incorporate anything you like, whether is be from a brief or sample you provide.

7.  What paint finishes can I have?

Before our artist starts work, our furniture is spray painted with child friendly water based paint.  This gives a smooth and  even finish that will enhance the artwork.  Once the artwork is completed, a final protective varnish coat is applied to the whole piece to ensure the artwork can be enjoyed for many years to come.
There is no limit to the colour of the base coat, if you have a particular colour in mind, then send us a sample and we will colour match to it.   Crackle effect is also available, again in any colours you like.

8.  How is the furniture delivered?

Because we treasure our furniture as much as you will, we deliver, assemble and position all our furniture (wth the exception of some of the smaller pieces where couriers may by used), to ensure you receive it exactly the way it should be.  We are not a flat pack company, and the majority of pieces will be delivered assembled.  However, some of the larger items, eg beds, will be delivered in sections due to access limitations and then assembled on site for you.

9.  Why do I have to wait 8 weeks for my furniture?

All our furniture is hand made to order by our craftsmen and then hand painted which does take time.  8 weeks is the maximum we would expect you to wait, and where possible, especially for smaller orders, your furniture will be delivered earlier.

10.  Can I have it repainted?

Yes.  As your child grows up, we can repaint your furniture in more suitable designs for them.

11.  Do you offer a fully bespoke service?

Our craftsmen are extremely talented and also have wonderful imaginations that can create your ideas into truly spectacular designs.  We will love to create something that is just for you, so please contact us with your ideas and leave the rest to us.
